Background

Andrea has 26 years experience as a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist in a variety of scholastic, outpatient clinical, and home health settings. Born and raised in Houston, Tx, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders from Stephen F. Austin State University. She received her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Texas Woman’s University. Andrea has completed post-graduate training in Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders through the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy under the direction of Joy L Moeller, B.S., R.D.H., the International Association of Orofacial Myology under the direction of Kristie Gatto, M.A., CCC-SLP, COM®, and Function Focus Academy under the direction of Mary Billings, M.S., CCC-SLP and Dianah Davidson B.S., RDH, COM®.

Andrea has extended her post-graduate training to include over 300 hours of continuing education specific to infant treatment. She has earned her International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) credential. Andrea is also a TummyTime!® Method trained professional, BabyMyo™ trained professional, Feed the Peds® trained professional, TOTS Training® trained professional and Certified Educator of Infant Massage®. In order to offer a more integrative approach, Andrea has taken over 300 hours of manual therapy training including CranioSacral Therapy (CST), CranioSacral Fascial Therapy “Gillespie Approach” (CFT) and The Vaughn Approach™️to Pediatric Bodywork, which she is able to incorporate into therapy as appropriate.

Andrea favors a holistic approach to treatment and has developed an integrative style that focuses on the nervous system and principles of neuroplasticity to achieve progress toward sensory, motor, feeding and myofunctional goals.
