Mackenzie Shiba

CCC-SLP, CMT

Speech-Language Pathologist

Background

Hi! I’m Mackenzie Shiba, a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Communication Blooms—a warm, welcoming space for speech and language therapy in Lodi, California. We specialize in personalized, play-based, and child-led speech therapy that supports meaningful growth through connection and joy.

My mission is to create a clinic where children can develop stronger communication skills, parents feel supported and empowered, and authentic relationships have space to bloom.

I provide support for a wide range of speech and language needs, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), echolalia therapy, gestalt language processing, and speech delay interventions. I’m a Certified Myofunctional Therapist (CMT®), NLA trained, PROMPT trained, and certified in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk and More Than Words programs.

Whether you’re seeking early intervention, speech therapy for autism, or guidance with language development milestones, I’m here to help your child thrive through connection, play, and expert care.

Yes. Infant feeding support and oral motor development are core areas of our practice. The 0-12 month window is one of the highest-impact times for early support, and it is also when families feel the most alone and the least sure of who to call. We work with infants from the newborn period through toddlerhood.
We are a private pay practice. We do not bill insurance directly. Many families receive partial reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, and we are happy to provide a superbill to submit to your insurance company. If you have questions about whether your plan covers out-of-network SLP services, contact your insurance provider directly.
Yes. Telehealth therapy and consultations are available to families throughout California. In-person services are available at our Lodi, CA location. Many families split their care between in-person evaluations and telehealth follow-up sessions, depending on what works best for their schedule.
Visit communicationblooms.org or call and text us at (209) 683-3427. If you are not sure which service is the right starting point, a Bloom Consultation is almost always the answer. We will help you figure out the rest.
es. We offer a free discovery call where parents can speak with our clinical team, ask questions, and determine whether services are the right fit before moving forward with an evaluation or therapy plan.
