Folsom Advanced Speech Therapy is a team of licensed speech-language pathologists dedicated to supporting children and families through thoughtful, individualized care. Our clinicians bring advanced specialty training in speech sound disorders, oral myofunctional disorders, tethered oral tissues (ankyloglossia/tongue tie), pediatric feeding disorders, and oral hypotonia as it relates to sleep and breathing.

We take a person-centered approach that prioritizes each child’s unique strengths, needs, and pace of development. Our practice is grounded in trauma-informed care and a neurodivergent-affirming model, ensuring that autistic individuals are supported in ways that respect their communication styles, sensory profiles, and autonomy. We believe communication should be functional, empowering, and meaningful—not forced or compliance-based.

Our team is trained in evidence-based approaches including the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and PROMPT, and we emphasize child-led, relationship-based learning. By following a child’s interests and motivations, we create opportunities for authentic communication that builds confidence and connection.

We also value collaborative, whole-child care. Folsom Advanced Speech Therapy maintains strong relationships with a network of trusted professionals, including sleep specialists, airway-centered orthodontists, ENTs, specialized dentists for tethered oral tissues, and bodyworkers such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, Functional Bowen practitioners, and chiropractors. This allows us to support families navigating complex needs like ankyloglossia and pediatric sleep-breathing disorders with coordinated, comprehensive care.
